We're facing something named Cory Luebke today. The 26 y/o left-hander from Coldwater, Ohio was a 63rd overall pick in the 2007 draft who was called up last September. He now has 41 ML games under his belt, 11 of which are starts (37 and 8 this season). Sporting a 3.06 ERA while giving up less than a base-runner per inning [.962 WHiP], it looks like he was moved into the rotation in late June where he's gone 3-4 in 8 starts since [2.92; .932] including coming off a 7 inning, 1 run, 5 hit, 9 K, 0 BB performance against the Pirates. Tough on LHBs if the fairly small sample of data is to be believed [.150/.220/.187 across 119 PAs/against]. He has never faced the Mets.

I got normal audio on mlb feed. but you can create an mlb account without paying for it. it's just the regular mlb.com account.

Well, a whopping total of 3 hits combined through 4 innings. Luebke has struck out 7 and walked 3 so has thrown a lot more pitches than you'd expect for only 4 frames.

Terry bunts late, Jerry bunted early and often. I don't like it either but at least Willie didn't hit into a DP. The bunt attempts by Pagan on Sunday (down 1, no one, runner on first) really bugged me.

Unfortunate play in the field and uninspiring day at the plate for most of the Mets today. We managed to have a good time, hanging with LWFS and metfairy (+mk) as well as a drive-by beering courtesy of the inimitable Steve J. Rogers.
