IGT: Aug. 12 @ Arizona

Let's help Carlos Beltran and the Giants win the West by taking down these desert upstarts. Ian Kennedy gets the start for the DBaggs, he's having an unexpectedly good year himself, so let's ruin that too.

Duda will be inspired by a visit from his zexy sister.

I expect emo sister will pop Tejada's cherry , God knows he needs relaxing.....Ed Coleman reckons he needs a blow anyway.

@radickey43 is now on Twitter.

I'd rather he play second base.

Angel Pagan - CF
Willie Harris - 2B
David Wright - 3B
Lucas Duda - 1B
Jason Bay - LF
Josh Thole - C
Jason Pridie - RF
Ruben Tejada - SS
Dillon Gee - RHP

He lists himself as an author before a pitcher? Hmmm...

Not for nothing and I hope we hammer him tonight but it's great to see Kennedy have success away from the Bronx.

WTG is Pagan doing on Harris's little bloop with two outs?
He's reverting to his former brain-dead self.

Agreed.

And then, in the chorus, as if it weren't bad enough... there's the pop world's most prominent preposition dangle.

This game? Almost as draining.

Re: IGT: Aug. 12 @ Arizona

I've got no data to back this up, but this team has to be the worst in the league at turning simple come-backers into outs and into GiDPs.
Two were botched tonight when they got a total of two outs instead of four.

And they don't hit well. I'd like to see the pitchers round out their game somewhat.

They bunt like shit too.

The thing is, had you asked me before the season started, I'd have said that our starting staff as a whole was above average athletically and would probably have an edge over most other teams in hitting, fielding & bunting. Instead, they've pretty much been awful all around.

Pitchers as hitters:
NYM -- .114/.150/.129
NL -- .145/.178/.189
Plus, if you factored the Mets' ineptness out of the NL stats the gap would be even wider.
Not that the gap in hitting alone would make a huge difference in the standings, but I've just been surprised by how poorly the hurlers have executed their fundies all season, especially in little things like come-backers. Just in the last few games there were two potential GiDPs screwed up last night on top of Dickey's error the other day which led to two runs.

You do wonder how much of it's luck. I mean probably 75% of all pitcher hits are luck, with the exception of a couple of players. But the Mets should strike to be those exceptions. Or at the very least, work counts. Even just trying to see 5 pitches in an AB could be the difference in an extra couple of outs from a middle reliever versus the starter.
