The only Mets game ever where the starting pitchers had a total of six surname letters between them was June 11, 2004. The most letters? 25, on May 29, 1996.

I stand behind my let's-release-Igarashi advocacy. I realize it doesn't help things all by itself but it's not as though we're gonna retain the guy and he couldn't possibly have a record that couldn't be replicated by some fresh face.
