KTE: Here Comes The Brewers

TransMonk
Aug 18 2011 08:40 AM

So, the Brewers are coming to town for a three game series against our Metsies. The Brewers have been playing out of their minds (winning 19 of their last 21 as of Thursday) since the All-Star break and now boast the second best record in the NL. They have both hitting and pitching and with the addition of K-Rod at the break, they have a powerful back-end to their bullpen. They have finally taken over a commanding lead in the weak NL Central.

When we were choosing KTE assignments back in March, it somehow slipped my mind that I would be HEADING TO LAS VEGAS TO GET MARRIED THIS WEEKEND!!! In honor of my impending nuptials, this will be a very special KTE Milwaukee Brewer WIFEY WATCH edition.

For good measure, Zach Greinke’s wife Emily:

Also, owner Mark Attanasio’s wife Debbie:

Ex-Met Carlos Gomez is on the DL, and I don’t have a picture of his wife.

Feel free to add to the list if you find a wife that I've missed!

It would be nice to take two out of three like we did in Milwaukee, but the Brewers have a pretty good team. Let’s go Mets!

I’ll post some Vegas pics when I get back. I might feel compelled to post live to Facebook or Twitter (irish recently tweeted that I don’t tweet enough). Vegas, baby. Vegas!

I forget, who did the Brewers trade to My Chemical Romance to get Shaun Marcum? Nice eyeliner, bb.

Re: KTE: Here Comes The Brewers

That's a big, happy family.

So you pick the one week the Mets are in town to run off and get hitched? Sheesh.

Oh, and good luck. Is Elvis presiding over the ceremony?

Re: KTE: Here Comes The Brewers

At the risk of sounding rude, it's pretty obvious that Jerry's got a much, much better sense of the feminine strike zone.

Presumably that's why he's crossed the plate three times to Scott's two.

The Dodgers beat Milwaukee today behind a Rod Barajas HR.

The Brewers have only won 19 of 22 now. We've got them on the ropes.

Mets to hold COPD Awareness Night

The New York Mets and the COPD Foundation will host Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Awareness Night at Citi Field, Saturday, August 20.

You can support the cause by purchasing tickets for the 4:10 p.m. game at http://www.mets.com/copd and the will donate a portion of the tickets purchased online to the COPD Foundation to support research and awareness.

The event will also honor longtime Mets executive, Bob Mandt, who passed away from COPD last October, and raise awareness for the disease.

COPD is the third leading cause of death in the U.S. (Ed: really?) and the only chronic disease growing in mortality. It affects approximately 24 million Americans but only 12 million are diagnosed. COPD includes chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and adult onset (refractory) asthma. (Ed: Oh, OK.) Symptoms include breathlessness, wheezing, and chronic coughing. Visit http://www.copdfoundation.org or call 1-866-316-COPD (2673).

Yeah, whenever I hear about diseases that are increasing my first thought is that it's probably the definition of the disease that's doing the growing.

Walkill Guance, meanwhile, took a while to find. Apperently, he started going by "Luis" and hung around ind ball until 2009.

He's probably still swinging somewhere.
