Not that I have any direct connection, but the Mid Atlantic team for the Little League World Series is from my home county, Clinton Co, PA :)

Good luck, boys!

No baseball fans here? That's a shame because they are a really good team

Re: LL World Series

I saw where they set a new attendance record for the Little League World Series with close to 42,000 at yesterday's Pennsylvania vs. Kentucky game. They saw a good game, though I'm sure the majority went home disappointed as Kentucky prevailed 1-0.

Tonight the masses left happier as Pennsylvania won to stay alive in the losers bracket of the tournament.

That gives new meaning to Pennsyltucky.

This thread should really be in the baseball forum.

Re: LL World Series

Hoping to be one of those 42,000 some time this week.
The Little League has gotten much more interesting than it used to be. They aren't little baby faced skinny boys any more. I remember a time when the championship game used to be a 20 year old looking Asian kid vs a bunch of 90 pound Californians, year in and year out. Guess who would win?

Now all the boys look 13 going on 20. 13 year olds ain't what they used to be.

Here is my alltime favorite LL'er, next to my son of course :)

Re: LL World Series

Who is that?

I always root for the team that's closest to the Northeast.

Re: LL World Series

Shouldn't they max out at 12, with 13-year-olds competing on the big fields of Babe Ruth?

Re: LL World Series

Way back when we were all playing Little League you had to be 12 as of July 31st of the year. If your team was still playing in Tournaments after August 1st, you could still play even though you had reached the age of 13. A few years ago, Little League revised the rule so that the cut off date for turning 13 was moved to May 1st. So as long as you were 12 on April 30th, you were eligible to compete in Little League. Essentially, the rule change causes there to be far more 13 year old playing at the Little League level.
