Lunchtime Adventures

Is it right that I order a salad for myself to go, and it's so freaking big, that my wrist starts cramping on the way back to the office?

I like to think that "Big boys don't cry. Big boys don't cry. Big boys don't cry...." is actually the caption for that photograph.

Re: Lunchtime Adventures

Somewhere around nine and a half.

It's a fashionable place to eat, this "Chop't" --- and it's coming soon to a corner near you. They have a staff who chop up the salad in front of you, and consequently have enormous arms. Usually an all-immigrant staff, for what that's worth. And we all feel flattered in our health consciousness that we made somebody really freakin' work it in orrder to feed us our lettuce.

I'll not return.

There's a Chop't down by Union Square. I might go there if I ever bought salad for lunch.

Had a chef's salad myself, not because I wanted to eat healthy but where I am right now in the hospital there is only Aou Bon Pain and the salads look at least fresh.......boy how I dislike ABP and their ripoff prices.

Yeah I hate ABP myself. OTOH, I solved that problem by bringing a lunch everyday. I eat out maybe once a month.

Re: Lunchtime Adventures

I always bring my own lunch when the kids are in school. Just means making three sandwiches rather than two. When they are not (like summer) I tend to eat out more-- which adds up quick on the bottom line and the waistline.

Which is one reason why I'm all... blubbery.

Re: Lunchtime Adventures

That's quite a large salad, but at roughly $9 I know why there isn't a Chop't in our area. It wouldn't stand a chance of making it around here. I generally just go home for lunch.

People stand in line to the curb in 100-degree heat. Swear to God.
