The Magic Number for clinching 3d place is down to 19.

From mlb.com:

Mets take on Marlins in finale at Sun Life
By Evan Drellich / MLB.com | 9/7/2011 1:58 AM ET

R.A. Dickey might give the Mets a leg up in Wednesday's rubber match with the Marlins at Sun Life Stadium.

New York's knuckleballer, a winner of two straight, hasn't allowed an earned run to Florida in two starts this season, with 13 strikeouts in as many innings.

The trajectory of that floater, though, should at least be fresh in the Marlins' minds: Dickey last faced the Fish two starts ago, throwing seven innings in a 2-1 Mets win on Aug. 29 in New York.

"He had everything going for him today," Marlins manager Jack McKeon said afterward. "Give him his due. He pitched a good game."

For Florida, left-hander Brad Hand is set to make his 10th start of the season in place of Clay Hensley, who has been moved back to the bullpen. Hand is to be in the rotation for the remainder of the season.

The 21-year-old Hand was the loser in a 5-3 loss to the Phillies on Sept. 2, going five-plus innings and allowing four runs -- three earned -- on four hits and three walks.

"For the most part I was ahead in the count, which helped, and then in the fifth and sixth innings I started getting behind and that's when I started getting hit a little bit," Hand said. "That's been the biggest thing all year, and throwing off speeds for strikes."

At stake in Wednesday's game is a season series win for the Marlins. They've won nine of the 17 meetings so far.

This game would also secure a winning record in the history of this oft-named stadium.
[crossout:3j6gy516]Last night's[/crossout:3j6gy516] this morning's win made it 73-72 Mets

Remember the 5:10 start time.
It's the old LAGAAMG (Late afternoon game after a morning game)

The #mets need to go 17-5 while the #braves go 4-17 to force a one-game playoff. #wildcard #optimism

This was in response to me tweeting last night that I didn't want the Phillies to win, but I want the Braves to lose to keep pushing back the Mets elimination date. Joe Janish told me to be optimistic for a miracle run. I was about to tweet it last night 'if the scores tonight hold up' and then Parnell blew it..

anyway, as @oddmetsjerk pointed out, the Mets are still alive in the division race too. (4) and I need to be more optimistic.

Acosta got the benefit of a few friendly strike calls, but pitched a nice 9th inning otherwise.
Terry got Herrera up to warm but then stuck with Manny anyway against the LHB Dobbs w/two outs in the 9th and the tying run on/winning run up.

That might be tough because I believe that place sometimes changed names during the course of a series.
