The Mets face another pitcher they are seeing for the first time. Brad Peacock is a St.Peters Peacock also.

And the Mets counter with a nut.

Brad Peacock: Both his first and last name are valid Scrabble words.

Same is true of Angel Pagan.

If you're a friend or family member of Atahualpa, what's the nickname you're giving him?

Ata? 'Ually?

Middle init is "O" so you can't even go AO like you could if it was AJ or something.

Pelfrey got into trouble in the first, but then got out of it.

The double play is, indeed, the pitcher's best friend.

then finished the inning with two stringing strikes for the out.

of course, gameday suggests a crazy small strikezone, which doesn't bode well for Pelf.

Re: I.G.T. Gnats vs. Mets Pelfrey vs. Peacock

It's bad enough that they're making a ton of errors lately, but have they made any recently that DIDN'T cost them runs?
Up to two un-earned so far and it's only the top of the 3rd

I've felt like that all year. I did a little rsearch a couple of weeks ago of errors->unearned runs and didn't find and real big correlation.

I'm referring mostly to the games just recently.
In the long run stuff like that tends to even out (even though fans always think their team is snake-bitten most often) but the low-scoring close games we've been playing lately definitely makes the E's stand out more.
Besides, I'm mostly just venting.

well, four game losing streak. I imagine those things tend to peak during stretches like that.

Hey, six innings, 25 batters, and the offense has produced 3 dinky singles off a ML debut and the long-man out of the pen.
The sad part is that's practically an improvement.

What do we have so far, like 25 pop-ups?

Mets are 3 for 29 off Tyler Clippard this year.
Any reason to think they'll hit him this time?

Re: I.G.T. Gnats vs. Mets Pelfrey vs. Peacock

Terry keeps using the same lineup (with one exception today, Satin) and they don't appear to be concerned about winning. How about playing players that might give a damn, such as Val P. and Baxter?

Oh good, two Ks an another infield pop-up!
At least next inning we'll have ... oh no wait, that WAS the middle of the order.

You'd think that 567 poor bunts in a row might start to send a message sooner or later.
I don't like that play EVEN IF THE FUCKING THING WORKS!!! - and the odds of it working are somewhere around the single digit pct area!!

And now two attempts at small ball later (neither one of which even reached the mound) and we still need a fucking XBH just to tie the fucking game.

Was there any doubt that he'd catch it?

F these guys, 4th place and dropping. What's the difference between how the team gave up in September of '10 for Jerry with how this team has given up for Terry?

Well, Terry was being talked about here as a manager candidate here a month or so ago.

Beyond that, is David Wright in a coma?
