IGT 9/17/2011: NYM @ ATL -- The Cat Meows

On this date six years ago, new kitten Avery -- perhaps inspired by Pedro Martinez's triumph over the Braves the night before -- emerges with a full personality. Older cat Hozzie goes into hiding, wondering what the hell is going on.

Dickey vs. Hudson, 4:10 PM.

Mets are the beneficiary of a close neighborhood play that is called (correctly) when Alex Gonzalez just misses touching second as he throws to first.

Really? The Ted?

Tejada-Hudson 8-pitch battle that would have been great had it gone our way. Instead it will be included in some clinic on clutch pitching.

Chipper doubles in a way that confounds Pagan. Yeah, this is still Turner Field.

Dickey pulls a Hudson and gets out of a jam. Say, what a game.

Alas, even the Really Agile can't tightrope-walk forever.

F him. If he gets a bunt down in the second inning we're still playing.

I know! What a dick, with the seven shutout frames, and the pitching around three jams, right?

I work ass-backwards when managing in computer games. I don't bunt with my pitcher until there's two strikes. Get the infielders in for your butcher hacks and then take one last shot at bunting after they drop back.
