Herrera had a nice AAA season this year: 2.20 ERA in 61.1 relief innings (46 games). Not so hot in Milwaukee: A 21.60 ERA, but in only 2 games and 1.2 innings. Eligible for arbitration in 2012, but unlikely to get a large award.

I wanna say the Mets have faced Hererra before (edit: yeah, he's pitched against 'em. Why I remember shit like this and not birthdays of loved ones is pretty fucking stupid). He was kinda heralded coming out of New Mexico, for a lolly pop kid. That other bro has put up decent K numbers when not starting. Um, 4 seasons at rookie ball. Good luck, dudes.

What they're saying in Milwaukee: Rosario, Herrera complete K-Rod deal Updated: Sept. 1, 2011 1:35 p.m. The Brewers completed the trade for Francisco Rodriguez today by sending minor league pitchers Adrian Rosario and Daniel Herrera to the New York Mets. So, all of you in Brewer Nation who have fretted for a month and a half that the Brewers were trading some of their top prospects, relax. Rosario, who was selected by Baltimore in the Rule 5 draft last December but returned to the Brewers after spring training, started the year at Class A Wisconsin and went 0-1 with a 1.34 ERA in 19 relief outings, with 42 strikeouts in 33 2/3 innings. He was promoted to high Class A Brevard County, where he was 4-5 with a 5.83 ERA in 16 outings (14 starts). Herrera, a 5-foot-6 lefty reliever, made two forgetable appearances for the Brewers in Boston this year (1 2/3 innings, 6 hits, 5 runs, 1 HR) before being returned to Class AAA Nashville, where he pitched very well. In 29 relief outings, he was 1-0 with a 1.48 ERA, holding opponents to a .203 batting average. Herrera was claimed off waivers earlier in the season from Cincinnati. Rosario was traded and Herrera technically was claimed off waivers by the Mets, who will take him to the big leagues, reportedly. They were two of the five names on a list submitted by the Brewers to the Mets after acquiring K-Rod. New York had until today to select two of those five players. Brewers general manager Doug Melvin said he expected the Mets to take those players but wouldn't reveal the other three names. "Herrera was in a tough situation (with the Brewers) but he has pitched well (in Nashville)," said Melvin. "Rosario has a good arm."

"Interestingly enough, Milwaukee took one of our guys and we took one of theirs. That's a dynamic frankly we didn't anticipate. Interesting to see how the spring plays out." "If we didn't think he was promising enough, obviously when we take a guy down at that level (A ball), it's a real good arm and a very projectable body. Sometimes guys can come very quickly.
