Chicago Transit Authority (I), Hot Streets, and that one with them as painters were the only ones in my family's collection.

Re: Chicago Kwiz!

Great, the one I peg as 2, Fanboi Frayed Knot has as 8.

I should have known. I thought the band-as-edible-product thing suggested psychedelic holdover from 1970-ish, but the texture of the wrapper and the printing font on it suggests new wave era urban blight, sort of like the courier font on the cover of Darkness on the Edge of Town.

Irish also got the painters as Chicago IX correct, all others including the 2 already-revealed answers wrong.

I think some architect needs to make his/her mark in the field by actually constructing a high-rise building that when viewed from above spells out "Chicago" in script.

You got H as Chicago II (and E wrong as Chicgo II)

Stay tuned as we reveal all the answers.

Re: Chicago Kwiz!

And now to reveal the answers

H (Chicago II, Jan. 1970)

B (Chicago III, Jan. 1971)

A (Chicago IV (at Carnegie Hall), Oct. 1971). Triple album as I recall, heavy stock box, looked expensive.

I (Chicago V, July, 1972). Their 1st single album, first No. 1 album, went double-platinum

E (Chicago VI, June, 1973). Also No. 1 in US, double-plat

J (Chicago VII, March, 1974).

D (Chicago VIII, March, 1975)

G (Chicago IX (Chicago's Greatest Hits), Nov. 1975) HUGE.

L (Chicago X, June 1976). The chocolate-bar album, won award for design

K (Chicago XI, Sept. 1977). Last album before Kath offed himself, and last produced by Jim Guercio.

F (Chicago 13, Aug., 1979) Went back to numbers but not roman numerals. This was a weird Chicago effort that had no rock OR soft-rock hits.

C (Chicago XIV, July, 1980) Back to roman numerals for what might be their least-successful record yet (and last for Columbia).

Thanks for playing!

I blame the art department. I salute them for the nu-waviness of the design, but you can't spot the logo in there until you look three times. By that time, you've already moved on and selected Elvis Costello.

And if that's true, it cost them their record deal and, ultimately, their sound.

Re: Chicago Kwiz!

I meant to make choice E as 'V' so I would have gotten wrong anyway.
Then, while I was away, it occurred to me that the chocolate bar was 'X' but by the time I got back I was too late to re-guess
You also told Edgy earlier that the Cardinal cover was XIII and then later revealed it to be 'VIII'. I was sure it wasn't XIII because I think I owned that one and I had stopped paying attention long before XIII, but my guess was VII

I think H is II -- the one with "Make Me Smile"

OE: Oops - I went right to the bottom to make a post not realizing that all had been revealed.
