Haven't seen it in like a million years but my memory is one of 'Serpico' where the lines separating the good guys from the bad are not nearly as distinct.

His 1st Oscar nom for writing, but no nom for directing? Boo!

I liked the message and its effort to tell a complicated story, but also, it was a little bit too long and could have used a few fewer Treat Williams freakouts. I like how Orbach never really left character to go play Briscoe on Law & Order.
