I'm out, unless you need an extra body to round out a bracket.

Use me as a last resort.

It all depends on the timing. If this starts during October, I'm out, as I'm preparing for a move at the end of the month.

I got a kick out of revisiting my improbable 2005 championship. I Think It's Don Grant Now, Pedro is the Guy Dwarves Climb On and my Lee Mazzilli version of Both Sides Now.

Certain songs that I've done parodies of, Bohemian Rhapsody, Roundabout, Life During Wartime, Highway 61 Revisited, whenever I hear them I think of my version not the original version.

I can't detach Tom Sturdivant from the "The Safety Dance." It's about 80% of what I know about Tom Sturdivant. And that goes back to year one of this contest.

I'll get the Met-scrambulizer up and running as soon as we finalize the all-time Top 500 (FK?), and we'll hit the ground running on or around November 1.

(Still plenty of seats at the table, folks.)

I liked the "you get 5 players to choose from and then you capture your opponents unused players" format. But, maybe a hybrid, like you get 4 players plus one non-player (manager/mascot/season, etc).

as long as someone describes the rules fully for me. :-D

Re: Song Parody Contest?

Each participant starts with a list of five Met-related personalities; you're matched up against one other participant, bracket-style, and you each have to pick one of those participants and write a song parody about your person.

One combatant opens a poll thread and posts his/her tune; the second post in the thread is held for the opponent. Then we vote; the winner absorbs the loser's unused players (giving them a total of eight to choose from after the first round, for example) and moves on.
