I liked the "you get 5 players to choose from and then you capture your opponents unused players" format. But, maybe a hybrid, like you get 4 players plus one non-player (manager/mascot/season, etc).

Each participant starts with a list of five Met-related personalities; you're matched up against one other participant, bracket-style, and you each have to pick one of those participants and write a song parody about your person. One combatant opens a poll thread and posts his/her tune; the second post in the thread is held for the opponent. Then we vote; the winner absorbs the loser's unused players (giving them a total of eight to choose from after the first round, for example) and moves on.
