Bob Seger, an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is currently on iTunes for the first time and is still touring at the age of 66.

For this edition of “Stranded!”, I’ve divided his songs into two categories, “fast” and “slow.” I have seven in each category (that just felt like the right number) and you can vote for one of each. The “slow” poll is in a separate message, right below this one.

So “take those old records off the shelf” and listen to the music of Bob Seger.

FAST:
Katmandu (1975--#43 on Billboard)

I think Lunchbucket took us to Seger Island before. He threw a red herring in there with "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man." I went for "'Til It Shines."

I choose that again.

Switching my "Other" vote to "Get Out of Denver."

Bonus track from about the time Bob Seger's singles stopped getting airplay: 1991's "The Fire Inside"...

Seger for the explicitly middle-aged.

One more bonus track: "American Storm," from 1986...

"The Fire Inside" sounded a lot like this five years later (a symptom of Seger, I suppose). Back when every third song, album or movie stuck "America" in the title. Deceptively dark.

"Shakedown" is his only #1 single and it was nominated for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards that year.

But I went with "Old Time Rock and Roll". The best of a bad situation.

The right answer to this one is Hollywood Nights.

Hollywood Nights

If I could I would vote for Thin Lizzy's version of Rosalie

Yeah, this.
'Rock 'n Roll Never Forgets' just got too played out over the years by radio programmers who fell to pieces over every song that had the phrase 'Rock 'n Roll' in the title.

'Her Strut' would be my write-in second choice, a song Bob claimed he got the idea for while watching some Republicans complaining about Jane Fonda (back when she was still semi-hot). 'Yeah I'm sure they hate her' her said, 'but I but they love to watch her strut around'

"Katmandu" is the best, but "Get Out of Denver" is close.

I'll show off and mention "Innervenus Eyes,"

Re: Stranded! With Bob Seger--Fast

Well, I don't think Bob was talking about her all the way back to the 'Barbarella' days even though I know that's where you're coming from here.

All of which reminds me of the time in college when she was there to speak on some topic. Friend of mine worked for the group that arranged such lectures - big left-wing type with certainly no forethought to disparage Jane without reason - and claimed she went into the dressing room looking awful before coming out hot.
More recently I'm guessing she's had a lot of 'work' done but she's also into decade eight at this point.
