Apropos of Ghost in the Machine (split from Apropos of Nothing)

Scolded by co-worker for desk-drumming along with Stew Copeland as 'Spirits in the Material World' plays on headphones.

"Excuse me, Mr. Lunchbucket. Could you keep it DOWN? Machine was an overpolished sellout awash in keyboards, totally destroying the three-piece punk ethic that defined the very nature of the Police. SOME of us here are TRYing to rock out to Zenyatta and keep our souls free of corporate takeover. THANK you."

I was going to comment "stop that drumming" on your Rdio post on Facebook but then I thought your co-worker might be a friend and I didn't want to get you in trouble.

Thanks, you never know anymore, especially now that every song I play is news on facebook. Will have to fix that when I play real crap.

30 years later and I still don't much like Side B of "Ghost," although the first few songs are strong enough to survive the slicker production and jazzy accompaniments.

"Secret Journey" was released as a single in the US instead of "Invisible Sun."

What. Were. They. Thinking?!

I was thinking 'Secret Journey' was one of the more Police-y songs on the record, certainly the best thing on Side B.

Air bass might be less annoying to your co-workers.

Or not, depending on if you hop around like Sting.

Yabbut, "Invisible Sun" is Andy Summers at his mostest.

I will reveal the real reason I was listening to this record in the near future.

I like to think of Journey having five other members in the band they didn't tell us about. They were called Secret Journey.

No less than several roundups of the Jefferson Airplane Starship Zeppelin.
