Things I Hate

For topics (related to movies) for which you have a stronger feeling than a pet peeve.

I hate when movie reviewers (professional or amateur) say that a movie had too many characters, too many plot threads, or too much was going on, or I couldn't keep track of it, etc., etc., etc. Isn't this basically waving a white flag and saying, "I'm stupid! I can't handle movies with more than a hero, a hot chick, and a villain (and maybe the hero's sarcastic sidekick and/or numerous faceless evil henchmen). I'm stupid! I'm stupid!" I'm guessing these are people who don't read books. They're also probably more likely to say bad guy instead of two syllable-ers like villain or henchmen. _____________________________ This was Elster88's last post with the designation 126) Ray Knight. I hate when movie sequels not only suck, but end up undermining the original movie.

That reminds me of the Seinfeld joke where he admits to be this type of person, especially in theatres when he is contantly asking people questions like "Wait why did they kill him, I thought he was with them? Oh, he WASNT with them! Oh then I guess its a good thing they killed him!" Actually its that kind of thinking that makes me want to see certain films on TV rather than in theatres. Easier to take in everything when you aren't in the theatre, so you are not lost trying to remember all the characters and plot lines. Steve
