Coincidentally Bush was just on his way to Kyoto. I expect his flight will be diverted.

Let's hope the tsunami waves are small and gentle.

Looks like it was centered well off the coast, suggesting tsunamis are a greater threat than crumbling builidngs.

Japan looks pretty safe this morning based on a brief scan of the usual sources. What was the seismic reading that triggered the killer tsunami --- 8.4 or something?

hopefully they'll be fine...they're among the few countries i don't dislike at the moment :wink:
