I'm a wee bit tardy on this, but I'm allowed to be.

Mrs. Sponge/Ted gave birth to the future shortstop of the Olympic softball team. DOB 10/2/05, 7 pounds, 2 ounces. 21 inches.

She already has the Mets mobile above the crib; Mets cheerleader outfit in the closet; and already wearing a Mets onesie. We gave SERIOUS thought to naming her Shea, but chose Sadie instead.

We should be getting sleep by the time pitchers and catchers report.

Congratulations! There really is some kind of CPF Baby Boom right now... we'll be able to field our own Little League team someday.

Mazel Tov to Ted and Mrs. Ted!

Glad to hear that you're raising her right :)

This place is pumping out babies like it's going out of style. Congrats!

(is Farmer Ted the poster formerly known as Bubba?)

That's awesome. So Bubba and I have taken care of SS and CF respectively. Seawolf, what position is your guy going to take?

Congrats Bubba. I hope you've stockpiled some sleep reserves.

MK can be the old man of this team - the lefty pitcher/grizzled veteran.

Why is it so funny to picture MK as a grizzled, rough around the edges, old school veteran?

This doesn't look grizzled to you?

That's definitely grizzled. I think that photo has been posted on the Pool more times than any photo other than John Rocker and the kitten.

I really want to teach the kid to pitch, because if he's anything like his dad, he ain't gonna be much of a hitter or much of a runner. Failing that, though, he can play second base.

Congrats Farmer Sponge! Be vigilant that those Cub and White Sox fans don't draw her away from the true faith.
