Or, more precisely, How do you put your pants on? It's often said that everyone from the most powerful kings to the lowliest peasants puts their pants on one leg at a time. But when doing so do people favor a specific leg? I'm not sure why, nor am I even sure when I first noticed this, but whenever I step into a pair - jeans, dress pants, shorts, whatever - it's always left leg first. I don't suffer from any balance problems (nor am I left-handed) so I certainly could start with the right, but it would seem awkward and unnatural for whatever reason and so I never do it. This got me to wondering if this makes me odd (aside from the usual reasons that make me odd) or if favoring one over the other is more the rule rather than the exception. So for a totally unscientific and insufficient sample size to measure this matter, you have three choices in this poll. Do you consistently step into your pants with your left leg first, your right leg first, or is there no pattern that you've ever noticed and one feels as normal as the other? I'm not going to put any time limit on this stupid thing so feel free to take some time if you must to determine if your dressing follows some sort of previously unknown pattern. * Probably no correlation, but I also always get on my bicycle from the left side also although that's a practice that's standard with mounting a horse so maybe there's some connection there.

an educated guess suggests right leg first, but I'm not sure it's a hard and fast rule.

I think I start lefty. Might have something to do with my left ankle being too wobbly to support myself on one foot anymore. #CliffFloydAnkles

Right leg. Standing. Then I balance on the right leg, put the left leg through, pull up the pants, and try not to fall doing this. My wife asks me why I don't put them on while sitting down, then stand up to pull them up, and I tell her that's the way I always remember doing it. Does any guy put his pants on while sitting? FWIW, I believe I always take off my pants left first as well.

Hmm. Usually, I've got, like, at least two girlfriends standing over me with pliers while I wriggle into my Eric Valentes. When I'm alone? No idea. Will try and see
