MK, who is not so mini anymore, auditioned for the NJ All State Band this morning. This evening he got the word - he's the first chair trombone in the Symphonic Band!

Thanks RD :) What's really funny was that he was convinced that he tanked his audition, so we were all gloriously shocked when the results were published

That's great. I never got better than 2nd chair in my trombone days (never worse either, as I aspired to geeky slackerism as a teen).

Tomorrow I drop MK off at Freakin' Rutgers so he can rehearse and dorm with his fellow all-staters. I won't see him again until he plays NJPAC on Saturday.

It was an awesome concert in a beautiful venue. A very special event indeed.
