Let me know when he's funneling Jaegermeister from a prostitute's ass crack. There's bottoming out and then there's BOTTOMING OUT.

Just a small sample, but the off-season seems to be more trying for him than in-season.
If so, it wouldn't be too surprising.

What would be surprising is if he is going to meetings or calling his sponsor.

I'd imagine the Rangers are concerned, but would be far more worried about whether he's getting on 'base.

Which reminds me.
Behind every great woman is a guy checking out her ass.

Well, there's a difference between relapsing in behavior and what apparently went on here. He's 'proven' to himself in the past that he's not the type of guy that has one drink and walks away again without getting drawn into previous lifestyles, but one tug down that path (during the offseason) isn't quite 'relapsing' in the sense that the Rangers have to be real worried.

Kinda sucks that one little incident makes news for him though. (Unless that helps motivate him..i dunno) What's next, are we gonna report that he was staring forlornly at a Bud Light ad and thinking about having a drink?

I think the issue is that this is at least the second incident in the last 3 years.

awful. here's hoping it's but a bump on the long road to a successful recovery. a wake up call, perhaps.

Josh's press conference. I hope the MLB doctors just say "don't drink and go to meetings.'

feel like Daryl Strawberry could be a good sponsor for him. went through the similar addictions, and both found meaning in Jesus to help stay away from their vices.

In my experience your sponsor needs to be a recovering addict, may not be true in different states.

Strawberry managed to change his lifestyle and minimize the temptations by staying away from certain people/places/things.

He might make a good sponsor, but he's a Met, so Hamilton would have to demand a trade here first.;-)

Re: Josh Hamilton on the sauce again

The thing about Hamilton is that he was already a religious, boy-scout, stable family-type before he ever got into drugs, drink, etc. Tough to make the case that adding one or more of those things is suddenly going to change much in his case.

The other problem is that he and the Rangers were into contract extension talks (he can be a FA after 2012) and now that, at least for the near future, is on hold
