Are you looking to spend Passover in Puerto Rico with Art Shamsky?

If so, you may be interested in this e-mail I received:

Famed Jewish Baseball Star ART SHAMSKY has been confirmed as one of the Special Guest Celebrity Speakers at Club Kosher's "PASSOVER IN PARADISE" Caribbean program at the beautiful Gran Melia Beach and Golf Resort Puerto Rico in Coco Beach, Rio Grande. This all-junior suites Pesach resort is a 5-star, AAA 4-diamond beach-front program where guests will enjoy magnificent gourmet Sefardic and Ashkenazic meals, gala entertainment, daily Minyanim, special celebrity speakers, a fun-filled Club K Kids Club Camp, and so much more.

Art Shamsky was a major part of the ‘Miracle Mets’ that won the 1969 World Championship. During the championship season, Art batted .300 and led the Mets in the National League Playoffs batting .537. The popularity of the 1969 Mets is everlasting and Art maintains, “There isn’t a day that goes by that someone doesn’t want to talk to me about the 1969 Mets.” Art also has other distinctions to add to his baseball career -- he tied a Major League record by hitting four consecutive home runs in four at-bats. He is the only player in Major League history to hit three home runs in a game who was not in the starting lineup when the game began. The bat used to accomplish the feat of four home runs in a row is currently on display in Baseball’s Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.

Shamsky is the author of “The Magnificent Seasons,” a book about the Jets, Mets and Knicks all winning championships in the period 1969-1970. These three underdog teams helped many people put their problems aside for a short period and gave hope to many who were filled with despair. Art has appeared on the popular television sit-com “Everyone Loves Raymond” where one of the main characters is an Art Shamsky fan who has a dog named “Shamsky.”

Art also managed the Modiin Miracle, one of the six teams in the professional Israel Baseball League. He continues to make personal appearances and speaking engagements and recently was named “Ambassador” for Jewish National Fund’s Project Baseball, helping to raise money for baseball fields and promoting the game in Israel.

He will be on hand to meet guests exclusively at Club Kosher's "Passover in Paradise" program, where he will answer questions, sign copies of his book, and speak about his years as a Jewish ball-player in professional baseball in the Major Leagues, with the NY Mets and in the Israel Baseball League.

Re: Passover in Paradise

That would be a good celebrity cruise --- loaded with current and former media freaks who think never quite understood that they weren't media darlings.

I'm going to take you to a seder far from here
We hope Elijah finally shows his face this year
We've waited so long...
We've waited so long...

That's the one I'm on, but David Lee Roth and Meat Loaf seem to have bumped Eddie from the stage.
