Any reason the Marlins new SS isn't playing?

Reyes played in Miami last night, so I imagine they/he just didn't want to deal with getting up early? Or he wasn't ready to face the demons. No audio for this game, sucks.

This game's on the MLB network, FYI. Some guy named May who plays catcher for my favorite team, the Mets, just scorched one in the gap to score Ike & Bay, who both walked. 2-2.

I think he laid down a bunt during BP and then took himself out of the game.

Loewenbrau reportedly has gone deep.

With a pretty Duda-ish-looking swing. Noo-ven-hoys also has a little Duda to 'im, too. Did the Mets get some kind of volume discount 5 years ago?

Wind blowing out hard to left. He kinda went with it and it kept going. He's a monster, Loewenbräu. A skinnier Adam Dunn.

With the way Frank Francisco looks-- right down to the tight-lipped little pout-- he could change his name to Armandslow Benitez.

There's no way these guys haven't found each other yet, is there? If they don't do Drunk Book Club once every week or two already... well, then someone needs to make this happen. Guys, Keith and Ron are being REALLY effusive about Peyton Manning right now.

Lucas May is rather intriguing. He went two straight seasons with an OPS over .800 in the PCL -- as a catcher -- and never got the call. He slumped badly at the start of last season, and got shipped to the D-Backs system where he rebounded to his regular numbers. Now he's with us on a minor-league deal. I have to assume his glove had something to do with him staying in AAA so long, but he could easily hit his way above Nickeas on the depth chart.

Do we really think that people are more interesting when they're drunk?
|
LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Mar 08 2012 01:05 PM Re: ST-IGT Mar 8 2k12, vs. MIA |
More easy with the tongue, which is more fun when you have guys who know how to use words and stuff.

i probably less interesting when i'm drunk. booze makes me sleepy. or i keep on getting roofied. i think they'd be intersting to listen to over some drinks. whether those drinks be gin & tonics, bud lights, or shamrock shakes really doesn't matter much. as long as they're chillin' and bullshittin'

And speaking of which... Now Hatcher is pitching for the Marlins, with a thick handlebar of his own, while Byrdak warms up in the bullpen. Is there some sort of Grapefruit League-wide "Dirty Man" competition going on this spring?

I'm more interesting. Or at least, the same interesting but more willing to share my interestingness. Really, I think i'm just boring normally, but being drunk definitely has the edge over sober since beer is a passion. Just like how I'm more interesting at Citi Field than I am in the bagel store.

Nee-ven-highs single, Rottino single on a hit-and-run, and Ike walk... we have a one-out stew going for noted slugger Rob Johnson.

Nothing doing. But LWFS family member Matt Den Dekker makes a nice diving catch of a wind-pushed hooking liner in center to end the Fish eighth.

can we get Colin McHugh in on this? He may be a step below but he's a lot younger too. A lot to learn.

Valdespin whiffs, and best I can tell, Bay is out by DD interfering with a batted ball. Is that right?

No, Rottino in for Bay. DD interfered during Valdy's AB. How does a baserunner interfere with a strikeout?

Valdespin chased a WAY outside fastball on a steal attempt (hit-and-run?), and drifted across the plate, lingering in the catcher's throwing lane.

batter interferred with the throw to first and the umps ruled that he would've been out I guess. "Matt Den Dekker (upper d?) out on batter interference."
