Roadtesting Josh Lewin for the first time, although with Ed and not Howie. I recognize that voice.

Mets on road I see. Torres vs. WANG

Hope Dickey's performance is bigger than Wang today.

Listening to the beginning too. like him so far, but I knew I would cause I read Faith and Fear.

Re: Xigt: Nats-Mets 3/10

Mets go 1-2-3: Lewin mentions his age (43) and makes a Shinjo reference. OK with me.

Gonna hit the road and run now, hopefully he can keep me on the road.

Mets down 3-0 after one but have the sacks juiced with no outs in the second.

Go, Josh Satin!

wasn't paying close attention, think he just defended the black uniforms.

Satin blows it with a whiff. Johnson plates one on a groundout. Quintanilla with a chance to show his quality.

First pitch single to center!

But Baxter holds at third. Two outs, two runs home.

Re: Xigt: Nats-Mets 3/10

Lewin self-conscious that he's under scrutiny. He just prefaced a reference to the ball-off-the-wall play with "I'll show you how far I go back with Mets history."

Just make the call, you know.

It's spring training. If Josh feels that it's important to establish his Mets pedigree, this is the time for him to get it out of his system.

Yeah, I warned him as much. Still he got in my pants on our first date with the Metsmerized thing.

It occurs to me this could be the first time in my life I've listened to a Mets broadcaster who was younger than me.

he doesn't count, not a radio guy. But I'd guess he's like, 29.

he graduated William Paterson in 1997, so that puts him at like ~36.

So how about that Jason Bay? Weak 0-fer-3 and a poorly played game in the outfield. He really lights the fire doesn't he.

well, it's Spring so I doubt he's really worried about it.

Maybe he's saving his hits for the season.

Christ man, based on what?, his previous two great seasons with the Mets?

you're taking optimism to a whole new level :)

no, sorry, that was sarcasm ;-)

I don't care if he goes 0-40 or 40-40 though, It won't change my guesses at his 2012 one bit, and I'm not sure he's all pumped to try to put up a big spring either. I know we sorta project that the struggling guys want to try hard, but it's probably not true. (Like how Pelfrey got criticized for sucking the other day but people will barely mention Dickey's mess today)
