The Next Musical Frontier

MK auditioned for the regional jazz band. Four trombonists were selected, and he's the second chair (not bad for a sophomore). Joe Bongiovi, who never changed the family's spelling of his last name, will be directing the kids.

Well, these apples get their musical abilities from their dad. I'm the non-musical mom of musical kids.

The concert was this afternoon. The music was great, and MK made us proud - Fun fact - during yesterday's rehearsal, Mr. Bongiovi's wife was watching the kids and recognized MK. It turns out that, before she was married, she was the teaching assistant in MK's first grade class and recognized him all these years later. Fun facts aside, the level of musicianship at this level was outstanding. The kids were terrific to watch and listen to, and having our son be a part of it filled us with a sense of pride that I just cannot put into words. It was an amazin' afternoon.
