Is it as bad as I think it is?

Bobby Parnell has been quietly untouchable this Spring.

Francisco and Rauch are not Francisco Rodriguez, but they're certainly not Igarashi or Carrasco. Isringhausen wasn't actually all that good either. Ramon Ramirez IS good. Parnell has indeed looked untouchable this Spring. Acosta should also still be good and Byrdak is a solid LOOGY. If Rauch or Francisco really isn't getting it done, there are plenty of guys to step into higher leverage situations that will. There's a lot of hope.

The pen might, right now, be the least of my worries. Currently it's the starters and offense which have me staying up nights.

I do think the pen will be significantly better than the last two months of last season, even if I'm not optimistic at all about Rauch. I'd list my top three concerns as starting pitching, team defense, and the leadoff spot in the order.

I think the key to the bullpen is the starters.........that is from page 76 by the way .

The Mets opened last year with a rotation including two vets coming in on minor league deals, and one vet (Dickey) a year away from being brought in on a minor league deal. So yeah, concern, but I'l feel good that they're going in the right direction.
