New team in town. New light. New life. New Mets in uniform. It's gonna be great.

OE: Or, if you're of a mind, Reyes in town means new reasons to bitch. New injuries. New opportunities for Ike to fail. YEAH!

The Mets are undefeated against the Miami Marlins.

Jose Reyes is hitless against the Mets in his career. (although he's 1/4 against Johan)

Weak greeting. But then, there are approximately 300 people in the lower basin.

Stronger response by Nieuwenhuis, there.

Whatever it is in the Met lineup that brings formerly-dominant, currently-struggling pitchers back to vitality, they should bottle. Perhaps the proceeds will help them, y'know, sign some pitching.

Re: IGT 4/24/2012 MIA @ NYM: Leading Off, Number Seven...

So Josh Johnson's all like, "BOO," and Johan's all, "What, what?" And then Johnson's all "Suck it," and Johan's all, "Na-ah, YOU suck it." And Johnson's like, "Oh, yeah, take THAT," and Johan's all, "I eat that for breakfast with cafe con leche, bub."

So what I'm saying is, it's a pitcher's duel.

I like that Muffy's getting thrown out at home allowed us to get an extra clueless turn at the plate by Davis.

I can't remember the last time a Met looked so lost at the plate. And I've seen a lotta struggling hitters!

Santana's nuthin' but bad luck. 'Cause whenever he pitches, the Mets can't buy a run.

On another note, it looks like SNY enhanced their ball strike display. It's readable now. I bet lotsa viewers were complaining.

Re: IGT 4/24/2012 MIA @ NYM: Leading Off, Number Seven...

Big win. Mets don't win a lot of these Santana-Johnson duels.

Lots of shameful, shameful behavior from Mets fans tonight (towards Reyes) but I guess that's to be (sadly) expected. Many fans were applauding despite the pervasive booing. Tribute video had lots of short clips but none of the big identifiable moments (cycle, inside the park HR vs the Dodgers, NLCS game 6 leadoff homer, etc.)

As for the game: Rauch is a stud. Nieuwenhuis has wheels, both in the OF and going first to third. Lutz looked lost at the plate.

Big Iassogna strike zone certainly helped rack up the Ks for both Johan and Johnson but it was still a treat to see such a well pitched game.

If the playoffs started today, the Mets would still be alive. They'd play a one-game eliminator against the Giants (home team determined by coin flip); winning team to fly to Atlanta to play the Braves in the one-game Wild card qualifier game.
