Bax vs Bay

Lefty-swinging Mike plays LF this not so fine Sunday. Righty-outmaking Jason takes a seat against big-time righty pitcher with high-time ERA and High Times reputation.

Well, not much of a swap as No. 5 hitters are concerned. I still say we need a better threat to put one over the fence as our lefty hitting reserve outfielder.

I know this really doesn't mean much at this point, but Jason Bay currently leads the Mets in runs scored, with 8. (Nieuwenhuis has 7, Tejada and Duda have 6.)

probably, Baxter hasn't gotten enough reps in the majors to think he sucks ( or even bench-sucks), but I know Terry said he wanted to get a start, so this seems about as good a time as any to do it. of course, they might not play at all, in which case getting one end of a doubleheader makes sense. speaking of Mike's at Citi Field..I should probably leave. Seems very unlikely they play, but I'd had to miss out on a bobblehead..
