The answer is, of course, Straw.





This Met, a life-long car enthusiast, retired young to go to work for Chrysler Corp.
He later worked at Rockwell Int'l and then became a senior exec at several manufacturing companies before going on to teach manufacturing mgmt at the university level.

Disappointed, that I didn't get this one in before midnight, because the answer, Jay Hook, won the first Met game in their history 50 years ago April 23, also a Monday.


This exMet, the losing pitcher of that first Met win, was involved in the freight and truck leasing business, concentrating on the former during the 1980s. He was once part-owner of R&R Trucking, Inc. He later served on the board of directors of Metro Tech in Oklahoma City and the Integris Hospice of Oklahoma County.
