I'm not holding the numbers in front of me, but my observation tells me:

The only break Turner gets from his out at 3rd on Sunday was that there were two outs and making them throw to 3rd in an attempt to get him assured that the run would score.

Yeah trading an out for a run (or a stronger guarantee of a run) will always have its value, but more generally, there have been diminishing returns on the outs they've given up.

Turner was also in the game cold at that point right? May have cost him a step or two. I think it's still a big of a sample size with the bad running. Not that they're ever going to be great at some of the extra base stuff with the average-sucky speed they have, but they were aggressive in spring training too and it might be time to tone it down a wee bit. They should always be trying to read pitchers and look for tells and stuff, but maybe not be quite as daring.

If he had been warm and two steps quicker then he only would have been out by 12 feet.

I'm having trouble finding a good number to confirm/contradict this, but my eyes tell me that we've been having REAL trouble scoring from scoring position on singles... like, to the point where it feels like a 50-50 proposition.
