Here last offseason. Gone tonight.

Let's keep it positive.

All right.

Um.

Hey, wait. DFA don't mean gone yet.

Maybe he's more of a 9th inning guy than a 7th inning guy.

Rubin, on DJ Carrasco, wrote:
He expects to be granted free agency.

Hey, I refuse to remember him while he's still on the payroll.

To be totally honest here, I couldn't have told you a single thing about Carrasco until he plunked Braun last night.

My caption for this photo is "D.J. Carrasco Gets Whiplash..." and I'm pretty sure it was because he had just given up a home run.

I'm not going to miss him, or the angst he always brought.

I guess as much as the rubbish pitching I will remember him for the Braun "handbags".

likewise. just Because rubin says it doesn't mean he'll be granted free agency.

Re: Memories of DJ Carrasco

1. He'll be on the payroll until the end of the season, by nature of his contract.

2. Carrasco has the right to refuse a minor league assignment, hence if Rubin is reporting that Carrasco wants free agency, it's pretty clear where he got that information from. (Unless you are prepared to accuse him of dishonest reporting).

3. Yes, it is possible he could be traded during this 10-day assignment period.

Doesn't mean his agent doesn't poke around and come back today with "Hey uhh..D.J.? no one wants you. go to Buffalo."

It happens all the time.

Being designated for assignment doesn't end a tenure in itself. The trade or release that may or may not be the ultimate assignment does.

We didn't note it, but after clearing waivers, Carrasco was, indeed, released.

Manny Acosta cleared waivers as well, but the organization held on to him and he's toiling with the Buffalo brigade.

There goes DJ Carrasco, the best there ever was.

(to wear No. 77 on the Mets that is).

Thanks to us he has a lot of time and $$ to work on his hot rods.

Is this part of a plot to bombard Canada with batted baseballs?
