Same.

I will offer, at a reasonable volume, that may be the wimpiest three-run Met rally I've ever seen.

Didn't leave the infield.

And speaking of which... how about defensive specialist Daniel Murphy over here? They should call that a Billy-DeeP, it was so smooth.

Bases loaded and two outs with Josh Ptolemy coming up. Lance Link getting the hook.

Murphy saves a run and Dickey follows up with a strikeout to end the inning. Lot of things going well.

And Quintie does a great job ending the top of the seventh. Dickory only at 75 pitches.

Duda leads off the bottom with a single.

Duda and Murph spank out hits. Time to tack on.

After his first season, IIRC.

Honest mistake, or sly passive-aggressive dig from the winemeister?

Re: IGT - 6/2/12 - Mets v. Cardinals

I'm going with honest mistake.
Seaver, by his own admission, follows baseball these days only through box scores and has always been a bit of a me-centered dude anyway.
I suspect that unless you're related to him, played in his era, or are part of his current circle, he probably doesn't know/remember your name.

Last year we'd go weeks it seemed between RCF shots like that (HRs or almost) from Wright.
This year it seems like we're getting two per game.

Dickey with this spike in Ks lately , I likey. And the control...
Also read after his last outing how the ump said he never saw a ball doing what Dickeys knuckler was doing. This is special stuff. He is takin it to another level.

Re: IGT - 6/2/12 - Mets v. Cardinals

But if you think that's impressive, you ain't seen nothin' yet. Dickey extended his winning streak to three straight starts, a rather humble run of success ... unless you consider that he struck out 30 batters and walked only one in those games. Only six other pitchers in major-league history posted wins in three straight starts, recording at least 30 strikeouts and walking fewer than two batters. That impressive list includes not only the aforementioned Santana, but also Walter Johnson, Bert Blyleven, Frank Tanana, Mike Mussina, and Pedro Martinez, who did it twice.
