Lunch... or madness?

Packed in with my lunch today is this innocent-looking latter-day addition to the summer fruit family. Behold the aprium. Not an apricot. Not a plum. But the (possibly abominable) result that came about when the two let their offspring socialize together. What's next? Squashato? Lemnana? Am I ready for this brave new world?

I have one, and it's frankly scaring me, sitting on my desk, staring at me, seemingly horrified by own existence like Frankestein's monster.

i'm holding out for the impossible to name pineapple-apple hybrid. and the inevitable tear in the space-time fabric when it is mated to the cross-bred grape-grapefruit. it will be a delicious, fruit-punchy end to all existence.

If I remember correctly, an Aprium is 75% apricot and 25% plum. Personally, I am partial to the Pluot, 75% plum and 25% apricot.

This kind of reminds me of my grief at the latest rage for juice/airfreshners/candles/whatever that have to blend TWO smells. I love lavender. I love peach. A peach blossom/lavender candle? Not so much.
