Right now, it shapes up to be a good competition in spring training between two realtively young players who both have upside. The loser makes for a really good back up who can spell Floyd against lefties.

Hopefully each will bring out the best in the other.

I didn't vote because it can go either way, and I'm not convinced somebody else won't be brought in just yet. If it comes down to the two of them, one of them needs to step up his game.

I vote other.

The good news is that between the two of them, they can cover right and back up at four other positions --- possibly five if Randolph is feeling nutty or desperate enough to spot VD at second, which I don't anticipate. As it now stands, there are plenty of at-bats available to each.

The bad news is that they're our best options right now.

Victor Diaz needs to work on his defense. BADLY.

Victors defence is not nearly as bad as we are told, certainly he improved over the course of the season, he;s not great, maybe he's not even good yet but he's not as bad as we were made to believe...go Viv

Two posters wrong Victor winning, a few wrong (so far) on the prospects being ill-boding, one wrong (abeit a brief sample size) in his defense having elevated to something passable, and myself dead wrong in thinking the Mets would find enough at-bats for both.
