ORIGINAL METS (& MLB) TV BROADCAST ON DVD FOR TRADE

HELLO CRANE-POOL, im new here, glad to be a part of this site. for over 25 years, ive been a recorder,collector,trader of MLB ORIGINAL TV BROADCASTS on DVD and/or VHS. nad now have a collection of over 500 games (no ESPN CLASSICS,CLASSIC SPORTS,BASEBALL GREATEST) only original broadcasts. looking to expand on my collection, figured good baseball fans will be found here. im most intersted in games with the NY METS..looking for all complete METS games out there from 1962-1996. by any chance, over the years you may have recorded or collected MLB games on your VCR, and forgot you still have these games. im looking to be able to post my entire list of MLB game i have availible on this site if i can, for all intersted to see. in the meantime, feel free to email me about my complete list and i will send it to you..please send me your lists of games for trading. all games are availible on DVD, and some of my original recorded master VHS tapes are availible, once i put them to DVD...the VHS masters are availible (limited). any traders out there, or people intersted in seeing some blasts from the past, i have what your looking for! I've seen a lot of people offering old games for trade. But happens when we don't have any games to trade? Is there any way for a collector to break into this field? I know that it's illegal to sell old games, so I'm wondering if "trade" might be a euphemism for "sell." I probably shouldn't say any more. I'm already getting spam from the "CIA."

HEY GUYS, nah, just an honest collector/trader...i have sold games in the past (only when i cant find traders!) im only really looking to increase my collection (most METS)... you get to a point where you have almost all youre looking for. but something always pops up. and most of these games i recorded myself (even with an old BETA recorder! ..before 1986. hope somebody has more METS 1977-1982!

Ive been searching for years for a recording of the Mets 1973 playoff games. Especially the last game. When I got home my family said I was on TV. Ive never seen it myself (that last game probably will never be rebroadcast because of the near riot that occured,...very embarrasing for the city, the Mets, and the fans) but from what Ive been told you can see me near the end of the game, sitting on a stool in the corner of Reds dugout, talking to a cop. I believe its just a few seconds of footage, but long enough and clear enough that my folks and brothers all recognized me. The cop was telling me Id have to leave the dugout and go back into the stands where I belonged. I was telling him he was crazy if he thought I was going back in there. Long story short, I went back into the stands. Id love to see this footage, if anyone has access to it. I have nothing to trade, but Id certainly pay for a quality copy of those 3 games in NY, and especially the final game with me in it. I also plan on posting more details of my 1973 playoff memories/experience some boring night over the winter.

Cool story Warewolf :) I'd lecture you about breaking the rules, but since D-Dad and I were on the field after the September 17, 1986 game, I really can't ;)

You never saw a final playoff game in NY with police horses at the ready after that series.

You might want to check footage of YS after Chambliss's homer in '76 or the last out was made in the '77 Series. No horses, lots of horses' asses.

If I remember correctly, horses were introduced for the 1986 World Series in reaction to Scarlett storming the field after the division clincher.

I think they had horses beyond the fences out there, just it happened too fast for them to have any practical use. You may be correct tho. There were police horses at Shea that day, but I didnt see them until after the game. There were a scant handful on the field. I will check that footage next time it pops up.

ZVON-- Check out the Museum of Television and Radio-- they have lots of old sports broadcasts-- complete with the the old commercials (cigs and booze most of em)

wow,...they are looking for certain recorded sporting events too. ]Super Bowl I (January 15, 1967) The first Super Bowl was recorded by two networks on videotape and subsequently erased. OUCH! http://www.mtr.org/

I checked my dusty VCR tape box, and unfortunately my Mets-related material is limited to 1986--the final half inning of the NL East clincher, the final half inning of the 16-inning thriller in the NLCS, and the final half inning of the 1986 World Series. I also recorded the end of the famous 1986 game in Cincinnati where Ray Knight clocked Eric Davis and Hojo helped the Mets win with an extra-innings home run. This may be a rarity though--I recorded a special that Channel 9 made about the 1986 Mets, which aired shortly after the Mets clinched the NL East and right before they were to face Houston in the NLCS.

My neighbors (big mets fans) gave me a black hefty bag filled with tapes from the '86 season. I haven't been able to watch them yet, what with those newfangled DVD players and all.

Those were some baaaaaad teams. hey we all knew the METS werent that good then...but being 14-16 in those days i still consider those guys of being my heroes, and i wouldnt change a thing about how i felt about my METS as a kid. and to me (although i still love the game) the novelty has worn down. miss those days at shea..i even miss JACK FRANCHETTI the P.A. at shea 1976-1977 and of course whats SHEA without JOAN JARVIS and the good ole' MEXICAN HAT DANCE tune for the seventh inning stretch. how can you not want to capture some of those days...the only way instead of going back in time, are these games on DVD or VHS !

My tape of Game 7 of the '86 Series tapes over Game 6. I know, I'm a moron -- but keep in mind I was only ten. But wait -- after the Game 7 footage ends, you see the last out of the ninth inning of Game 6! The fateful tenth inning is preserved in its entirety. Worked out kinda nicely, actually.

Personally I only have game three of the '69 World Series and game six of the '86 World Series on video tape. I wouldnt mind having more, but never got around to collecting them. Maybe someday I will. What I meant by my smart ass statement was that I have a video/DVD coverter, which I got specifically to transfer the family films (which were converted to video in the early 90's) to DVD. Hardly ever use the thing. I should transfer those two games, since i got em. So I thank you for the offer, but Im good. And stick around and talk Mets with us cuz the more Met fans, the merrier.

any searchers for the 1969 WORLD SERIES GAMES. I Recently picked up the actual raw NBC footage (no commercial breaks) all complete games of games 3,4,5 and are excellent quality. all games include NBC WORLD SERIES REPORT pre-game shows with SANDY KOUFAX & MICKEY MANTLE. i recently went to a card/autograph show in NJ..and had these games playing..at one point it was standing room only around our table! also have the KINESCOPE (B&W) of game 2 in BALTIMORE which only recently has been availible in the trading game market. guys these are great blasts from the pasts..and i tell yah, i still cant get over fantastic TOMMIE AGEE and those breath taking catches in game three. "BALL HIT OUT TO DEEP LEFT CENTER....RACING HARD IS AGEE...WHAT A GRAB!! traders? traders?

this is true.. not too many collectors out there i guess i was selling the 1969 WORLD SERIES GAMES (if no traders) for $10 at the show i went to last weekend. so anybody intersted ill do the same here for $10 a game, plus $5 for PRIORITY MAIL..all games on DVD.
