if none of the 3 systems gets a Majority we'll do a runoff between the top 2, so feel free to vote for what you really want even if you think it will lose.

1. Roto league- categories to be decide later, in a 5x5 roto league each team is ranked 10 pts down to 1 point (in a 10 team league) in each category.
example: in a 10 team league i have the 3rd most steals, thats worth 8 points. i have the 2nd least strikeouts, thats 2 points. if those were the only 2 categories i'd have 10 points total.

2. Points league- each statistic that we choose to use has a point value.
example: you get 1 point for every single you hit, inning you pitch, or batter you strikeout, 2 points for every double, RBI, or run scored, you can also have negative points (for caught stealings, errors, runs allowed, etc.)

3. Head to Head League- you have an opponent each week against whom you will be judged in each of the 10 roto-categories. you will have a win-loss record for each week which is added to your season w-l total.

Roto would be fascinating in a 20-team league, I think. The talent will be spread so thin (in theory) that the standings will likely fluctuate pretty wildly.

i've done 20 teams before and yes, the spread gets crazy. also in a 10 team league it is a common strategy to "dump" a category (usually either saves or steals) and then finish well in all the others. this would be very impractical with 20 teams as you have to assume you won't be able to finish at the top of 6 or 7 categories and therefore that "1" in steals or saves would kill you.

I have always prefered "head to head".

i must have not explained "points league" in a deragatory enough manner as someone has voted for it...

IMO, H-2-H makes no sense in fantasy baseball.
I'd be unlikely to participate if you end up using that system.

H2H is great in Football...this isn't football, but lets give everyone he choice since they may not feel as we do.

i'd go H 2 H

I voted for roto, but i've never been in an H2H baseball pool. It might be fun. So what the heck. But, whatever the majority wants

I guess Rotisserie wins.

thread closed at 10 votes for roto, i guess if all the remaining non-voters show up and vote for something else we may have to change it but lets get moving in the right direction for now...

I believe all the web ones I have been in were head to head.
More than 10 catagories I think tho.
Ill have to check.
