At least a couple of those bouncers are bound to sneak through the infield; we just have to figure out a way to group them into a couple of runs. Hopefully we can do all that before Maddon figures out to plant all seven of his spare fielders in the infield between 2nd & 3rd.

There are actually several rules depending on which catwalk--or "ring" as they call them--your pop fly hits.

There should be a ground-rule at MFYS that a ball in the first ten rows down the line is an OUT, kinda like when you're a teenager and you are out for hitting it over the fence and losing the ball

Wright must have had a terrible jump, they rarely throw for the trail runner on a double-steal. Also, isn't wright something like 7 for 15 stealing bases this year? Time for the red light!

Dickey cruising, 27 2/3 scoreless at the end of the 3rd. This is one game I really wish I was home to watch. Radio can't do the knuckleball justice.

Rays barely touched their bullpen yesterday despite the score and it was an offday monday I believe, so they should have plenty for today and tomorrow.

I'm getting so used to Dickey dominating like this that, at times, I forget to be stunned at how easy he's making this look and how ridiculous it is for a 37 y/o to be doing this for essentially the first time in his career.

The MLB radio app is strange, sometimes it cuts out the WFAN commercials and you hear everything going on at the ballpark between innings... And sometimes they forget to cut the feed and you hear that annoying 'kars for kids' commercial.

Looking at that replay from the first inning again...I'm not so sure we didn't have our second no-hitter of the year here. Game score was 95. Put it in the books.

Which reminds me, even before ARod hit his Grand Slam last night, the Yanx had the lowest BA in MLB with bases-loaded yet at the same time led everyone in grand slams. It's like every meaningful hit they get goes over the fence - and most of those are preceded by walks and/or squibs.

Braves finally lose 3-2 (in barely under four hours - their announcers didn't seem to know what to make of games like that). Yanx were out-hit (as they frequently are during their wins) but Atlanta left like 13 runners on. So we gained on both Miami & Atlanta and stayed even with the Nats all for the second night in a row. Philly still battling in Mini-soda (maybe that's where Bloomberg should be Mayor) leading 9-8 in the 9th.

According to STATS LLC, the starting pitching matchup was only the second since 1921 to feature the AL and NL wins leaders during the regular season. The other was Boston's Josh Beckett and San Diego's Jake Peavy on June 24, 2007. The Rays said it has only happened three times in the last 50 World Series, with Atlanta's John Smoltz facing the Yankees' Andy Pettitte in 1996, Toronto's Jack Morris facing Atlanta's Tom Glavine in 1992 and the Dodgers' Sandy Koufax going against the Yankees' Whitey Ford twice in 1963. I'd like to know how it could have happened in 1921. Did the wins leader in one league get traded in-season, and then face the leader from the other league before anyone in his original league caught up? Or are they for some reason only able to trace this back to 1921?
