is there a tree doctor in the house?

frick!

my photogenic cherry tree just got whacked by a big ol chunk of another tree i was having cut down. it's trunk is split from where all teh branches split off, all teh way down to teh ground.

i fear it may be the end... it's core is fairly chewed up by carpenter ants, and while a healthy, young tree would struggle to come back from such a wound, i don't think the tree has a chance...

anybody with a green thumb have any recommendations? i plan on calling a certified arborist anyways, but am open to ideas.

The last tree doctor I knew had to retire. Kept falling out of his patients.

I knew one who had to quit because he always fainted at the sight of sap.

I need a tree assassin in my yard. Fighting with a stubborn tree-like weed with thick, long deep roots.
