Bright and sunny 25 miles west of Citi in northern NJ, so it sounds like whatever it is, it's localized.

In the irresponsible rumor-spreading department I saw Some Pretend Internet Scoopster report that the Mets would be considered a potential tire-kicker for Kurt Suzuki should Oakland wanna trade him now that they've called up some other dude. Sadly a 75 OPS+ catcher would probably improve things around here.

At some point these monkeys are going to get a couple on and then bring Ibanez and/or Chavez off the bench to swing for the fences (like they do any other kind of swinging on this team).

The guy was pitching badly enough to get released early this year. It's one thing to have a little rebound, another to get the 8th inning against the MFYs heart of the order.

From today's Times:

Nick Swisher, who’s known for slinging a few one-liners, said he had been thinking of what he would say in response to Francisco’s comment, but couldn’t come up with anything.

To paraphrase the great Bill Watterson, Nick Swisher's train of thought is still boarding at the station.

- Yes, except that we had a chance to run their asses out of the stadium, Pettitte into retirement, and their bullpen into tatters, but instead scored just one run after the 1st inning.
- Yes it was
- Except for the part about not returning with Parnell for the 8th. I'd still like an explanation on that one.
- Tough to shut it down after that ending, even given the late finish. Need a good bike ride later this morning and then an afternoon nap so I'll be ready.

Re: IGT Friday June 22 Mets vs MFYs: The Bloodening

That turn when Wright hit the double might be my favorite at-bat of the year. He went up there with every mean intention of hitting one as far as he could, and even after a couple of ferocious swings for misses and/or fouls and going to 3-2 he muthrfckn crushed that one off the fence. Good job for Q-bert to reach ahead of him and set it up of course.
