I was smelling a HR coming up all inning just then. 4 runs (all unearned) on just 2 hits would have been so typical MFY that I couldn't get the idea out of my head. And having the the backup catcher and pitcher up just made me more nervous, not less.

Now this loss bothered me. I was fairly sure it wouldn't live up to the hype and it didn't. I like how we came back. Didn't like Batista for 2 but that's easy to say in retrospect (though I thought it at the start of his 2nd inn.). Tough loss. Hey, Nats lost so we didn't lose any ground. I wanted this one tho. Woe is me.

I am just really fucking sick of losing to these schmucks by one run all the time (or almost all the time: five losses this year of 8, 2, 1, 1, 1). Too many singles tonight and just one knuckler that didn't knuckle to Swish-face.

The bench now has a too many middle IFs. Could use Pascucci so there's someone that is likelier to hit a 3 run homer (Nickeas, Turner, Q, Cedeno/Murphy, Nieuwenhuis/Torres). Terry didn't use Byrdak because he wanted to save his relievers as he was one short. This, of course, is nonsense as it means he was managing for the 9th and beyond instead of the moment. It's one thing to look ahead, it's another to have Batista pitch against a great hitter in a tie game.
