IGT 7/20, vs. Dodgers: Feels Like Tonight

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr
Jul 19 2012 08:49 PM

Because of Scoscia. Because of Gibson and his stolen MVP.

Because we're coming back Home.

Because of Lasorda.

Because even though this road trip felt like a season-ender, It's Not Over.

Because if you're looking for a time to turn things around... What About Now?

Because What I Want is for Kemp and Co. to feel just as Crashed out as they did the first time around.

Because, if you recognize these song titles, you'll enjoy the postgame show so much more as a celebration than as a sop.

Johan doesn't have it this evening.

2-0 Dodgers, and only one out in the top of the first.

With Batista starting tomorrow except some lost limbs in the bullpen this series.

"Abreu gets under it, and wrestles it to a stand still" says Gary, and as weird as that sounds, a very apt description of the fly out to left by Bay.

That was designed to be used when we have a lead and go to the pen, but lately I've felt that going to the pen in those situations is no joke anymore. I think I'll retire that one.

It's not a great at-bat when the pitches he's fouling off are right-down-Broadway fastballs.

There have been 5-6 hittable-- low-90s, middle-to-high-middle, Aaron-Harang-quality DRILLABLE-- fastballs in both of these last two at-bats.

The PH spot I wouldn't have made was Nieuwenhuis for Beato an inning or so later.
Especially with the way Kirk's been (not) hitting you practically had as good a chance with a reliever up there - plus you then get an extra inning out of him.

4/22 as a pinch hitter, like a .305 OBP still. not good. small sample size, ride the fun while it lasts.

pen pitched to a 1.5 ERA today, theirs sucked (And we outpitched the Nats pen too, which is continuing to suck..) but it was that one extra run that they squeaked in off Ramirez despite what looked like a bad call on the SB? for Ramirez's first earned run in a long time that cost them the game.

*sigh*

that sucked.
