Predict the homerun call he will use for Ichiro Suzuki --- the one he is currently working on right now even as we post.

One of these days it's going to get so bizarre that they're going to cut him off in the middle of his broadcast.

After they leave Seattle maybe.. Bad announcing aside I've always though Sterling was a decently aware baseball guy, not as stuck on the Yankee-ego thing that he's so good at cheerleading as they're PBP guy. At least, the little I've heard him interviewed. But that might not jive with the theme of Yankee broadcasts to acknowledge the guy. Ichiro is probably more famous than most of the Yankees (in terms of people who know who he is)

"@therealarieber: Wrong on so many levels. RT @JimmyTraina The John Sterling call for Ichrio's HR: "Ichrio, the Yankees rising son says Saynora.""

Edgy MD Jul 30 2012 09:00 PM Re: Sterling |
That would be number 100 for Ichiro.

Edgy MD Jul 31 2012 07:11 AM Re: Sterling |
Far be it for me to suggest that baseball broadcasting should solely be the province of sonorous baritones, but to my ears, it's when Waldman opens her mouth that this scene goes from goofy but innocuous to gratingly offputting.
