Cal Ripken's mother, kidnapped this morning and released unharmed. Motive unknown. Aberdeen: hardscrabble and relatively humorless place. You don't mess with the Ripkens --- you don't even joke about it. it's all the place has going.

Glad to learn she's OK. When you drive on I-95 through Aberdeen, there used to be a big sign announcing Cal Ripken Jr. Stadium. Is it still threre? The only other thing of interest there was a US Arsenal/ testing grounds. Later

You can see the Stadium from 95, it's on the Southbound side of the hiway.

the red roof in at aberdeen was a supreme shithole when last i was there, but that was half a dozen years ago. also, it was a red roof inn. what was i to expect?
