Anyone receive this boxed set from ESPN yet? I went to order today and it looks like the web page has been pulled.

I don't think it will acutally be released until next week. From what I understood, this was a preorder for 08/21/12.

I was gonna order four but I wanted to wait til I checked with all my bros to see if they knew about it. I kinda thought that the deal might be a mistake, too good to be true. Now I wonder if they will honor those who ordered it before it was pulled. If they do, awesome for anyone who did order earlier.

That's great news. Glad you guys got the deal. I don't see anywhere at the ESPN shop to buy that at any price now. Guess Ill get mine thru Amazon. Kicking myself for not ordering four when this was first posted.

The real deal! Mine came today. Was just in conference with it before realizing I'll have to go on corporate retreat with it. Thanks to bmfc1 for shining a spotlight on this offer. He's a funny guy. (Funny how? Funny like severely discounted box set funny.)

On Disc 10 (the "50 Greatest Players" part), on bonus materials, you will find a selection titled "Origins of a Franchise." That is adapted from the film that runs in a loop when you visit the Mets Museum & HOF -- I wrote the script (most of which remained intact through the 2010 editing process). So when you watch it and hear Gary Cohen talk about how there's no such thing as a "casual" Mets fan, et al, that's mostly my doing. I had no idea it would show up there, received no additional compensation for it and am unbilled in the package and on the disc, so you might say it's my claim to obscurity. But I did write it, and I'm quite thrilled to discovered it landed in this handsome package.

Deep digging bump alert! (page 11) Got this a few weeks ago and the first thing I viewed was the 86' 16 inning NLCS game. I saw the game on TV live, but had not since and had forgotten the details. 4 hours! Man, if anyone wants to see why many consider Mex to be one of the best first basemen ever, just watch this game. This package is awesome and even well worth the regular/full price. Looking forward to viewing the rest.
