Does anyone know when to pick apples? Just a general idea...now? September? October?

Eating one of them right now...it had a pretty big bad spot. It's delicious! I don't remember what kind but it tastes like a MacIntosh, my favorite...

Based on my experience with the peach tree in my backyard, I say eat them before the squirrels do.

My mother noted to me this weekend than having the random stray kittens in the backyard has really cut back on the birds eating her figs. Fresh apples are yummy.

The squirrels ate my cherry tomatoes this year, every one of them. Except the ones they picked and then threw on the ground after taking just a bite ARGH!

Bought freshly picked Gala apples from the local "farmers and growers market" yesterday. They could not have been any crisper or juicier.
