For you and I to root for a third place finish, ahead of Filly and the Phish, is basically all we have to root for, team wise. And we will root for that. But for the front office to make a statement that this is now the teams goal is silly. Of course its the teams goal to win as many as possible. Unless there is some reason I'm missing (like if they don't make 3rd heads will roll) it makes no sense to me that they put that out there.

Its official. Wright wants third place! His 77th RBI put us up 1-0 in the first.

Re: IGT 8/28/12 NYM@Phil: YOUNG v the PHILADELPHIANS

Walks Utley. Bases philled, no outs. I may have to turn this off and head to the closest bar. Fortunately, its w/i walking distance. So I can get REALLY smashed.

Re: IGT 8/28/12 NYM@Phil: YOUNG v the PHILADELPHIANS

During Friday's game vs Washington, Kyle Kendrick held the Nats to 2 runs and got the first two outs in the 7th, and Manuel still wound up using 7 pitchers to finish a 4-2 win.
My point being that he pulled Worley here in a tie game and with a low pitch count in just the 5th inning so no telling how many he'll use ... and this is already a slow-ass game.

Eh, even a four-run lead with only three outs to go, winning is like a 98% probability.
Or, with our pen, about 60/40

4 to 1 actually, but the point still holds. Especially considering they haven't scored as many as four runs in over a week.

Ruben scoring in the first. You can clearly see the ball on the ground in front of the plate -
