The reverse of this thread.
For me, it was the Doors. They didn't impress me at first; the first album of theirs I really liked was "Other Voices." But since I went back and realized that, while they had their weaknesses (Morrison's self-importance and Ray Manzerak's overindulgences), the did some pretty good stuff.
