IGT 9/14/12 NYM v MIL: Something's Brewing

Hell, if nobody started an IGT I may as well snag one when they already have a lead. 2-0 Metsies on a walk to Murphy and doubles by Wright and Duda around an RBI tapper by Ike.

2-0 Mets, middle of the first. The last time that happened Agbayani led off with a single, then Alfonzo and Piazza hit back-to-back doubles.

Murphaboom follows a Neise bingle. 4-0 Mets.

Just tuned in and I missed a week's worth of runs. What the hell.

The Brewers get to back, but some sketchy baserunning may have cost them a run. 4-2 Mets, end of two.

You're like a middle reliever trying to vulture a win.

You not only missed a hitter with a RiSP, but also an out that knocked in a run, and a HR with a real live runner on base.
You could have watched all week and not seen any of those prior to tonight.

Niese continuing the past week's tradition of putting lead-off runners on in every inning.
Not totally his fault though. A couple of bloops plus a Tejada error have caused much of the trouble but two GiDPs have bailed him out.

I did watch them all week and I hadn't seen any of that shit!

Watching the Mets this past week on TV has been like watching old people fuck.

Re: IGT 9/14/12 NYM v MIL: Something's Brewing

There are some Two-way words, like it's okay for Curt Gowdy to say 'Roberto Clemente has two balls on him.' But he can't say, 'I think he hurt his balls on that play Tony, don't you? He's holding them. He must have hurt them by God.'

So, yes he did.

Meanwhile, Duda goes deep (starring Marilyn Chambers). 5-2 Mets.

Is Josh Thole allowed to drive in runs? I thought that the CBA prevented this kind of malfeasance.

Thole cow! (They just write themselves, ladies and germs). Torres hustles out a single and Thole smacks one into the LF corner to extend the lead to 6-2.

Let's just keep this team on the road.

And end the season after 81 games.

Livan Hernandez induces Tejada to ground into a 5-4-WHEEEEEEEE! Weeks spikes the throw five feet short of Ishikawa and Thole scores easily. 7-2 Mets. Really.

Niese is escaping a lot of trouble tonight. It's like the Mets ain't the Mets, but the other guys is.

Good thing we double-switched when Rauch was brought in so he could just be pulled after one batter and 7 pitches.

And has Parnell retired anyone during the month of September?

Parnell owes Tejada a month's worth of dinners for that one.
Nice turn by Murph too.

So, when nine innings are played and your team has more runs than the other team --- what is that called again?

Re: IGT 9/14/12 NYM v MIL: Something's Brewing

It was a nice game last night. After about the third inning, I never really had a doubt that the Mets wouldn't pull it out, which is rare. The paid attendance was 38,000ish, but there were probably only half that actually in the stands. We had nice seats in the first row of the club level, literally right above the broadcast booth and just to the left of the cameras that catch the fielders on flyballs. It was a very wonderful view of the game. For Saturday and Sunday, my mom-in-law got me seats about 4 rows behind the plate, so I'm looking forward to those as well.
