Johnny Depp strikes me as the kind of guy who can rock a cravat. Has he? I want to say I've seen him in one, but I don't know whether it was awards-show/I-chose-to-wear-this or a movie costume. Bruce Lee probably could have, what with that long-ass neck/lean trunk. Chris Hitchens, too, maybe? Didn't he wear one?

I used to rock the cravat in my Colonial Williamsburg days. (Notice that I'm wearing the Mets' colors).

Personally, I think a cravat-wielder looks better looking over his left shoulder. George and Andy look a little vulnerable. Liberace pulled it off certainly, and not just as camp. In fact, whether they wore one or not, I'll throw in Cesar Romero, Alan Napier and virtually every male who was ever on Batman with the exception of Chief O'Hara, who could barely wear his shirt. Guys I never saw wearing one but I think could? Definitely Hitchens. Bill Bixby. Smokey Robinson. Brian Stokes Mitchell. Sting, that miserable fuck, is probably wearing one right now, and even looking over his right shoulder because he doesn't give a ahit.

But I start them. And I'm not ready to be hijacked yet. There's Julian Sands. You know anything Sting can do, he can do. And that guy from Voyagers. The one who wasn't Meeno Peluce. Definite cravat-wearer. Christopher Reeve. There's a guy who wouldn't turn down a cravat if you offered him one.

Guys I never saw wearing one but I think could? Definitely Hitchens. Christopher Hitchens? He always seemed a bit slovenly to me. There can be a slovenly way to wear a cravat, I think. Hitchens I envision with top shelf tastes and bottom shelf demeanor. A real Regency rogue. And dude, I'd argue that "roguishly" is the proper way to wear a cravat. Good job in the cravat and tri-corn. Oh, INDEED.
