As surely as the Mets believe the magic of one more reliever will guarantee their success, because every lead will be final and lasting, so the Yankees surely believe that the key to their success is to steal from the team that knocked them out the year before, because surely anybody who beats them must be invincible, right?

It's so MVP Delmon Young who killed them. He's a free agent, he plays the outfield. He's got some power and could easily smack 30 home runs (while walking fewer than that) in Yankee Stadium.

They NEED pitching, and Verlander's untouchable. I'd think Fister would be a target, but he's barely arb-eligible, and way too cheap as yet for Detroit to surrender; with the exception of Granderson, the MFYs do seem more willing to take on salary than part with more valuable prospect-y parts.

A ton of these guys are under 30, and a championship this year could lead to more.
